All,
Did not want to create any sensational news, but this is what I gathered from speaking to an IO. I had applied for my EAD on Jan 25th and havent received any updates. So, I called the NSC customer service and an IO informed me that I need to check back with them in another 60 days if no decision is made by that time. When I said that it would be 6 months by that time, the IO said that "that's right. Each IO has about 500 applications on their desk and it will take some time to clear these off"
Just wanted to update everyone so that all the June/July filers can file appropriately.
Again, mine could be an isolated case. So, please dont panic::))

TANA reportedly paid Mr Clinton million dollars for the fund raising dinner/speech. I am not sure how it helps though. I have not seen them raise voice to address our issues.

I was in Canada in 2001, had the approved I-797 but the consulate in Calgary refused to give me the visa stamp and asked i go back to home country to get it (Egypt)
Even though I had no US education and people who do might have a better chance, but it is still only a chance, totally dependant on the mood of the consulate officer who has every right to refuse issuing visas to third country nationals.. i don't know why anybody would risk it if they don't have to.

After more than an hour drive to a shitty town in northern mass Lawrence....no bottles please..cell phones be turned off...
Officer: Purpose
Me: Me approved my wife not
Officer: cases..
Me: Presented cases
Officer: Yes you are approved...your wife is pending
Me: Oh really that is a revelation....
Me: Why so?is she preadjudicated?
Officer: There could be many reasons...no she is not pre-adjudicated...
Me: What can we do to expedite as she is current
Officer: Nuthin ....I was loosing my temper now...
I said how long should one wait...I opened an SR I got a reply that they are doing additional review contact after 6 months..3 days later I get approval email...no one has a clue...the right hand does not know what the left is doing....my wife is kicking me on the foot asking in native language be happy with yours do u want to loose urs too...

Me: Well I guess that's it I didn;t know anything after driving 60 miles that I didn't know before...
On the way back got a mail from my attorney...he checked thru AILA and talked withan IO ...it seems her biometrics need to be redone...it is ordered and she shld get it in 2 weeks she will be current next month too...so keep fingers crossed...well my fingers are crooked and can't be straightened now...

my experience with all carriers including fedex/dhl and others have been bad. Infact no one can guarantee a timely delivery for international shipments, as there is customs check, that can delay the delivery. Customs clearance is not controlled by these carrier companies, though they can only expedite it.

by consultant means "both are Consulting company" or rather i have applied H1 through a consultant and not through a company

It depends on if you filed the application yourself or thru lawyer authorizing them with a G28
- if thru lawyer they will receive all receipts except EAD cards which comes directly to ur home address. In that case you will be safe because the receipts and EAD cards will be easily spaced out by atleast 6o days.(receipt coming first). So then you can update address with USCIS by phone + AR11 so that EAD comes safely to new address
- if not thru lawyer then receipts will come to address specified which might be your old address. USPS redirection does not work
- you can try these things
- approach postal office and check if you can buy a PO box and deposit all mail coming at old adress there and collect it weekly once.
Hold mail for next x days (whatever maximum)..and renew it once x expires..
also clearly check with them if the govt notifications which do not redirect will be held or PO'ed.
these are just my suggestions. not sure that it will work. but if you try any please post your experiences too

First of Change the subject of this thread. This is confusing to state that your I485 is already denied.
To your question:
1. NO you cannot continue to work on EAD once your I-485 is denied. EAD is based on the pending I-485, once that is denied there is no basis for EAD to be valid. You are out of status immediately after the denial.
2. Opening MTR takes months, if you are lucky then it might be quick.
Now a question to you.
1. Why do you think your I-485 will get denied? I assume you have all the documents supporting your legal status in US and on job. If so you should not be worried.
The safe bet:
That is the reason why people maintain dual status with H1/L1. That helps in these kind of situations.
Just my thoughts, better consult with a lawyer if you are in such a situation.
