Sorry to hear that you are in this situation. It took about 8 weeks. Also one more thing, during this ordeal, I talked to an experienced lawyer who also said 8 weeks.

My daughter is 2.5 years old and is on H4. She is receiving some modelling offers for commercials and photo prints. I understand since she is on H4 she cannot work. But can I apply for her EAD and work SSN by which she can work on these assignments?
I am looking at this purely for my daughters personal development and no big money is involved but still I dont want USCIS to think she is working even though she is on H4.

Unfortunately, there is not going to be a hard consensus and a good satisfying answer until USCIS comes out and fixes the law. The problem comes from inconsistent USCIS memoranda as to whether an employer who moonlights on EAD has "left" his employer.
AILA has recognized this inconsistency and has provided us, immigration attorneys, with guidance on arguing why the inconsistency should be construed to mean that moonlighting on EAD while preserving H-1B is ok; however, nobody can guarantee that the USCIS will agree with these arguments 100% of the time.

I am on l2 since my husband is on L1. I work full time for a US employer with an EAD. Now, what would happen to my status if my husband quits his job? you have EAD, that EAD was entirely based on your L2 status. If L2 status is gone so EAD is invalid too....

Its not true,
My daughter is 3years 5months old and she got FP notice and gave finger prints in Nov 2007. The only change for them is they will get FP Notice with Code 2[means they will take FP for only one hand] and we all get Code 3 FP notice.

In good faith to your request for help, please do include more details of your case :- EB2 or EB3, country, PD, date I-140 filed, etc. So us IV readers will be in a better position to assess situation and help.
I got an RFE to send copies of my degrees on nov 15th. my attorney sent the copies and my status changed to Response to request for evidence received and processing is resumed. How many days will it take for I-140 approval after the response to RFE to received by USCIS ?

My company prepared for my PERM filing in EB2 category. They did all recruitement efforts. But at the time of filing, company annouced some lay-offs as "restructuring". Now my lawyer says, it is their policy not to file for PERM before six months of any lay -offs since some lay -offs involve same job title as my labor supposed to be filed. Since this is my lawyer's policy, My question is, is it safe to file PERM right now? What if I use different job title then the one my lawyer used before for recruitement efforts. 2. The odd looking middle top plate must be for data display
3. It's no Leica-M, corners not right, much thicker body, lacks view windows, ...
If not for the Leica and Leitz words, it can easily be mistaken as a Rollei!

I'm sorry to hear about your mom's situation.
Obtaining the green card doesn't mean your mom has to come here immediately. She can attend the interview and choose to come at a later point. I'm not too familiar with the appointment process/wait times etc but it seems like a lot of hassle to have to reapply.
Is postponement of the interview a choice?
I dont know how long ago you obtained your green card or citizenship but these days it's a loooooooooooooooooooooong wait for the elusive GC. So grab your chance when it comes.
That was my two cents.

one lawyer whom I spoke with says it is still ok...basically they need senior applicants in their field who has done some supervisory work and can do managirial work..I don't know how much it is true.
