What do you mean by AP and EAD delayed? Once you have applied for your 485 and all things considered OK, you should get your AP and EAD. If dates retrogress again, you will have to keep renewing your AP and EAD till you get your GC. How long it will take to get AP and EAD? Right now, I believe it will take a lot longer, maybe upto 6 months given the load of apps. they will receive.

Yes. I got mine extended in FL with EAD.. but the extension was only for an year eventhough the EAD was for 2-years.

Even with H1, they renew the DLs only for a year. That the way FL rolls. I've been renewing every year since 2002.

Hi,
I had applied for my EAD renewal from Nebraska on 6/10 and got the card production ordered mail on 7/8. So your renewal should hopefully come through before your current EAD expires

Thank god for the small mercies like premium processing among all this slow moving bureaucracy.
They have been trying to move up the value chain, H1-B, recently they announced I-140. :rolleyes: Hopefully the same for 485 as well. But that is subject to retrogressed visa dates. Maybe the CIR will be passed and we can apply for 485 w/o visa availability.

Krishnam70, they require police certificates for any country where you lived in the last 10 (not 5!) years. Also, fingerprints must be sent to FBI to get "certified", and that can take 10-12 weeks nowadays.
NEVER bother the consulate with questions regarding your application status. Give it at least a year since they accept your documents. If you can't wait for so long, google "CAIPS notes" and use this process to get info about your application. However, if you have specific questions regarding your application/situation, the consulate will respond within 1-2 business days. Just make sure to include your file number (you'll be provided with it upon acceptance of your documents) at the top of each email message or response. I notified the consulate about my FBI fingerprints delay and asked some questions specific to my case. When I reviewed my CAIPS notes, I found out that they keep track of all communication, including email.
I'm almost done with my Canadian PR process and moving with my family to Calgary in October.
I am from india and a Canadian PR holder who has done successful landing. I did not provide a police certificate from India. I had lived in the US 4 years before I applied for Canadian PR .If you are applying from the US they do not require you to provide the PC certificate I think. May be you are correct about FBI verification, it used to take 3 weeks to get the fingerprints certified from FBI ( As i said the instructions are on the form so did not elaborate further on that). No phone correspondence with consulate is encouraged/possible during the wait time, all inquiries need to made using the fax/regular mail quoting your file number for reference and yoy will get response. CAIPS is a good way to see the progress but i guess u still need to wait 52 weeks either way to get started.

Who told you they process around 4500 application per day at NSC, or you just figured it out all by yourself? I'd love to konw your source, or how you did it.
i guess you're right. in my case, receipt date and online case date for I-140/change of status were the same.
anyway, Nebraska process around 4500 application per day--that includes all kinds of form I-765, I-131, I-140, I-485, etc. assuming that 25% of those are are I-485 then they process 1000-1125 I-485/day. again, assuming 40,000 I-485 are still to be encoded then the average waiting time is 35-40 days. whew, i expect mine first week of september.

Hey can we sue these law firms who have spread the rumors, I could not sleep all night yesterday. Think about those who have not submitted the paperwork to their lawyer yet ....
I saw immigration law (Matthew Oh) & Murthy publizing these rumors. Even Shusterman could have done the same he is one of the top immg attorneys but I feel just to make us already suffering souls file before the holiday these firms has run some water down our drain ....
I feel like repeated my self , but why do you guys blame the messenger ? I would like to know the bad news in advance if possible and be prepared rather than caught by surprise. May be it is just me.
Again those firms/web sites did not call you and inform you, if you don't want to listen things that are depressing (probably truths) , don't read, Send in your application and wait for your lawyer to give you an update.
I understand that every one is on their nerves, but lets keep our calm and appreciate their info. We are all educated and can get all kinds of information (good , bad , depressing) and process it.
May be at the end of the day, nothing bad might happen. May be we get 15 days grace period(For their mixup) for sending our applications. May be they would accept through out July. This is all speculation until official word comes out. Lets all hope for the best.

Not really .... My brother worked in India for 3 years and worked here in US for 5 years before moving back to India and he is earning good too.
Salary for any job depends on lot of factors. How one negotiates is a key factor.
