we have applied every year and I often hear back from people who do win this loterry, somehow it didi not work out for us...at least, not yet!

Another option - which I would try after the air bulb but before I try any cleaning solution is a soft brush designed for the purpose. Some people swear by art brushes but I sprang for one of the electronic "spinner brushes" sold by Arctic Butterfly which makes a variety of sensor cleaning products all of which are expensive.

guys,
I have a situation here....i travel a lot due to a contracting job and take my family with me...we shift every 6 months once...due to this we had to face a lot of hassle in receiving fp notice and ap,ead etc...is it ok for us to use a p.o box address?so that i can get my mails every week whereever i am.....please advice...looking forward to your replies....

why are we assuming that the parents are illegals?? as far as I know, it has not been reported anywhere in the media that the parents were here illegally. if it has, please post relevant links.
as for being a legal resident, do the rules state that you need to be a legal resident for immigration benefits or tax benefits?
For IRS purposes, 180 days or more on a valid non immig. worker status and you are a legal resident.....

I used to watch CNN for any news update and visit CNN.com atleast 10 times a day. Not anymore. I didn't visit the website for the last two days and I am sending e-mails to all my friends to stop watching CNN and all the products that endrosed Lou Dobbs show.

I guess one option is "follow-to-join". Go back to home country and apply for follow to join.
But you should not miss that period when your PD becomes current. It usually takes one whole month for PD being current so I don't see a reason why they cannot file in time.

someone just woke up after 8 months, now asking the agenda, not willing to spare a penny or bring in energy, but wants an "update" about the date & time he will get his GC in mail. Is that something new, NO, its been a consistent behavior, that's why I never liked gjoe.

I didn't want an update. I know what is going on and also when we will get our GC. I just wanted to make you realize that your goals and actions are not in sync. I hope you understand what that means.
My penny and energy are invested in the right place were the returns are in propotion :)

EAD is usually issued only for one year but USCIS has the option to issue EADs for a longer period of time based on this regulation:
"DHS on July 30, 2004 published an interim regulation that amends 8 CFR sec. 274a3. USCIS now has authority to issue EADs for periods greater than one year. This regulation recognizes the system is overburdened. However, USCIS has not implemented this reform probably due to the potential revenue loss."
Source: "Immigration and Nationality Law Handbook 2007 Edition", published by AILA
This can be done without changing the law. If USCIS is afraid to lose its revenue they can change for 2 or 3 years ahead. I believe this may be a good choice for people whose visa number will not be available for several years. Any comments?

I would appreciate if anyone can guide me through the situation I am in. I have been working for a company for past 4yrs. After the July bulletin was released on June 15, my employer has stopped responding to my emails, voicemails and registered mails by normal post. When I try to reach him on the telephone his voicemail message says that he is travelling and not to leave any voicemail messages but to email him and he will respond when he gets a chance. When I email him I get an out of office response. There are two other people working in the same company. I sent emails to these people and also left voicemail messages but they are also not responding.
This has put me in a very difficult situation as I dont know what is the status of my H1B application which expired recently. They were supposed to extend it. They are also not telling me the status of I140 application. My labor PD is June 2004. I would like to file the I485 application if USCIS reverses their decision.
Has anyone been throught the same or similar situation ?
This is my third employer and third GC attempt in the 11yrs I have been in this country.

Totally agree on the information front.
Our stress levels will be in control if everyone of us knows their case status.
I dont understand the secrecy in providing the information which pertains to us, maybe they themselves dont have clear picture.

I fully think that if IV is serious for the dignity of its members and wants this not to happen again, then the person should be revealed and banned. I know this has happened in the past also but not taking this kind of action has given courage to such kind of people to attempt it again.
How do you know that actions are not taken? Just because they are not public?
